Research Activities

Scientific Focus Area (SFA) research is organized into three coordinated Research Campaigns as shown below. Each Campaign has well-defined Activities and Sub-Activities designed to jointly provide integrated understanding of how variable stage impacts hydrobiogeochemical function of the river corridor, and to use that knowledge to construct reduced-order watershed models faithful to governing processes.

Systems Models
System Models
Link components to understand and predict system responses to natural and anthropogenic forcing.
Mechanistic Models
Mechanistic Models
Use new process understanding to elucidate mechanisms and characteristic component behaviors.
Process Studies
Process Studies
Advance state-of-science hydrobiogeochemical process understanding across scales.
